We want to leave you with a few images of Oamaru and Kakanui as we depart these towns:

A rare stormy day
The more typical sunny day

Beautiful! Always fun to see what you're seeing!

As one who grew up in Kakanui (now living in WA state) and stumbled across your blog through Google alerts for 'Kakanui' - I've really enjoyed reading an outsider's impression of the place - complete with waking up to the sound of sheep in the morning! Glad you got the chance to experience real New Zealand - good luck for the rest of your trip.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'll try this again. I just wanted tell you that if the rest of your experience is anything like ours in OZ, there are more good things coming. Eat some pavlova for me.
