Back to Wellington

Wednesday morning we flew out of Picton for Wellington on a little 12 passenger plane--only a 25 minute flight. A high overcast with sun breaks plus low winds made for a very easy and pleasant flight. We shuttled back to our hotel (they had stored much of our luggage for us) and set out to complete the day’s tasks.

Wellington

First we stopped in at the NZLocums office to say goodbye to some folks and for them to “debrief” Mark a bit. Good people!
Emmaline and Robin

After lunch, our next task was to return the hired violin I have been using while in NZ to Ian and Judith Ralston. The Ralstons live and have their violin shop in Upper Hutt. We walked the short distance to the train station and bought tickets for the 50 minute ride to Upper Hutt. Ian met us at the station and took us back to the shop.

Ian introduced us to his son Richard who was working on a commissioned guitar in the shop at the time. We hadn’t realized that Richard Ralston is an internationally known instrument maker.  After Richard left, we enjoyed conversation over a cup of tea with Judith and Ian and finally settled up our very reasonable account. I am most grateful to Robin at NZLocums for responding to my request for a violin to rent. She simply found Ian in the phone book!! I count it a real privilege to have met the Ralstons. We shared both a love of music and violins as well as a love of Christ. They are and will be in my prayers………
